New UArctic Course on Co-Management

"Is is that easy...?" Participants in the UArctic course on collaborative management and community-based monitoring in the Arctic were surprised how easy it is to access information from Greenlandic fishermen and hunters on the status of living resources and their proposals for management actions in the PISUNA-net database.

This new in-service UArctic course, the first of its kind, was held in Nuuk last month. A total of 25 government resource managers from central government and from all five municipalities in Greenland successfully completed the course. The teachers were Lene K. Holm and Mark Nuttall from Greenland Climate Research Centre, Shuhei Takahashi from Hokkaido University, and Martin Enghoff and Finn Danielsen from NORDECO.
