Management Action from Citizen Science
Management action from citizen science was the topic of Finn Danielsens key note talk at the National Biodiversity Symposium in Denmark on 1-2 February 2017. The symposium was hosted by the Centre for Macroecology, Environment and Climate (CMEC) at University of Copenhagen. More than 340 scientists, managers, consultants and decision-makers from the private and public sector attended the symposium.
Whereas scholars have often emphasized the number of people engaged in citizen science and the data that can be compiled, Finn provided an alternative perspective on citizen science. Finn discussed how we get from citizen science observations to natural resource mangement interventions in the ’real’ world.
