Cambodian Farmland Carbon Success

After 2 ½ year implementation the Cambodian Farmland Carbon (CAFACA) project, funded by Nordic Climate Facility, formally ended. It has succeeded in providing substantial climate mitigation through planting of local, useful trees as organised by community-based associations and local authorities. It has further developed tourism in association with the field activities. The co-benefits from the tree planting are very substantial and may amount, as they accumulate over the coming 20 years, to five times the project costs. An independent mother company for marketing and sales, as well as for expansion of the model to other countries has been created in Denmark (See www.trofaco.com).
