Philippines Environment Monitor

2006-08-23

NORDECO was hired in 2005 by the World Bank and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to undertake the elaboration and editing of the Philippines Environment Monitor. The focus of the Monitor was on Integrated Marine and Coastal Resources Management. The Philippines Environment Monitor Series seeks to present a snapshot of key environmental trends in the country. It seeks to engage and inform stakeholders of environmental conditions and changes, in an easy-to-understand format, and to provide benchmarked indicators for the subject they cover. NORDECO worked with a team of local consultants and together we elaborated a 65-page publication. The Monitor was initially printed in 5000 copies and distributed through DENR to coastal LGUs, PENROs, schools, other local institutions and decision makers throughout the Philippines. The DVD production “Sinayas World”, based on the Philippines Environment Monitor, was also produced and distributed by DENR to schools and other institutions.
