Journalism course in full swing

2009-06-16

20 journalists from 13 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America are in Copenhagen for an intensive 3 week training course as part of their preparation for participation in the upcoming climate change summit known as COP15. The journalists are meeting with research institutions, media organizations, NGOs, and representatives of the Danish government and the European Union. They will also visit the municipality of Lolland to know more about the municipal climate action plan and visit sites with climate change mitigation and adaptation activities including a hydrogen powered village, windmill parks and biomass projects. Another visit will be to Malmø to see a sustainable urban development initiative in the Western Harbour area. In December 2009 they will return to Copenhagen and participate as accredited journalists in the COP15. The journalism course is sponsored by the Danida Fellowship Centre and implemented by Danicom and Nordeco.
