Appraisal of civil society programme proposal in Rwanda

2009-10-22

Nordeco undertakes an appraisal of a proposal for a programme under the Danida strategy for strengthening civil society in developing countries. The proposals concerns literacy for children and adults, with elements of livelihoods skill development, for some of the poorest sections of Rwandan society. The programme aims at strengthening the capacity of local civil society organisations in the districts and ensure that these organisations are active and able not only to advocate and demand for services from duty bearers, but also to participate in planning and implementation of education, livelihood and health programmes in the region as well as bring social change and poverty reduction to the involved communities.
