Thomas Skielboe is Co-Director of NORDECO. He has more than eightheen years of experience with development and natural resource management programmes and projects.
Mr. Skielboe has broad experience with:
- participatory local development
- inter-group dynamics and negotiations
- use of PRA tools and other participatory techniques
- community-based natural resource management
- conservation and protected area management
- territorial organisation and ethno-development for indigenous communities
- integrated health systems based on indigenous and Western medicine
- development of adult education programmes
- conflict management and negotian techniques
- project management, quality assurance and technical back-stopping
Considerable working experiences concerning project identification, feasibility studies, appraisal and review. Mr. Skielboe is furthermore an experienced Team Leader of interdisciplinary teams and as Project Director for long-term projects. He has conducted research and fieldwork within the fields of development, social change and national planning: modernisation processes, local participation and land use-planning.
Working experience in the following countries: Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos (Lao PDR), Vietnam, Ghana, Spain, France and Russia.
