Olav Aanestad

Mr. Aanestad is a social anthropologist with broad experiences from development work related to international migration and natural resources management. He has both been managing and working on programmes related to civil society, labour market and social inclusion, natural resources management, environmental communication as well as de-mining. He has field experience from several countries, including post conflict settings.
- Experienced in international development and work in conflict zones, as researcher and consultant, covering thematic areas such as social analysis, post conflict cooperation, and use of a wide range of participatory and communicative methods.
- Expertise in program identification, design using LFA approach and program management.
- Good knowledge of participatory methods such as PLA, including participatory monitoring and evaluation, focusing especially on natural resources management.
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches in the area of socio-economic studies and surveys.
- Thematic coverage: post-conflict cooperation, civil society dynamics, de-mining, community based initiatives, environmental communication, humanitarian intervention, education.
