Mr. Rio is a development-, environment- and natural resource economist who has since 1997 been working with rural development and natural resources, environment and agriculture/forestry in East-, Southeast- and South Asia. He has gained broad experiences with project management, household- and institutional economics, monitoring and evaluation functions, environmental assessment, and development project and programme evaluation.His key qualifications include:

Varied experiences with utilisation of participatory design and implementation tools, including training and supervision. Extensive knowledge of Asian development and environmental issues and broad scale social development issues. Mr. Rio have worked with assessments, background studies, as a member of interdisciplinary teams and headed projects, teams and meetings from local level to governmental level. Working experiences from Afghanistan, China, East Timor, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
