Mr. Poulsen has more than twenty years of experience in sustainable natural resources management. His key qualifications include:

  • development of simple participatory biodiversity and resource use monitoring systems
  • integration of local development and environmental issues
  • establishment and management of protected areas
  • biodiversity conservation and protected area management
  • shared management of protected areas
  • rapid assessments of biological diversity and mapping of ecologically sensitive areas
  • capacity building & institutional strengthening
  • environmental education and awareness-raising
  • environmental impact assessments

He has extensive experience in project planning, review and implementation, administration and team work obtained through assignments to international organisations and government authorities, including the World Bank, the Global Environment Facility, the European Union, DANIDA, DANCED, WWF, BirdLife International and Flora and Fauna International.

Specialization: Tropical ecology and community-based natural resource management.
