Mr. Poulsen has more than twenty years of experience in sustainable natural resources management. His key qualifications include:
- integration of local development and environmental issues
- community involvement in natural resource management
- biodiversity conservation and protected area management
- rapid assessments of biological diversity and mapping of ecologically sensitive areas
- participatory monitoring and evaluation
- facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes

- environmental impact assessments
- national reporting obligations under the Rio Conventions
Mr. Poulsen has extensive experience in project planning, review and implementation, administration and team work obtained through assignments to international organisations and government authorities, including the World Bank, the Global Environment Facility, the European Union, DANIDA, DANCED, Danish municipalities, WWF, BirdLife International and Flora and Fauna International.
Specialization: Tropical ecology and community-based natural resource management.
