Hallgeir Kismul has since 1987 been working with environmental conservation projects and community participation. He has especially worked with integrated institutional strengthening at village, district and regional level in such fields as afforestation, watershed management, land use planning, promotion of appropriate crops and local transportation.
His experience includes capacity building and training and he has a long experience in project management and administration. He has thorough experience with socio-economic surveys, Participatory Learning and Action, Logical Framework Analysis, and village action planning. He has been working for several years in the following countries: Sudan, Western Samoa and Tanzania.
Specialization: Community participation, capacity building and training development, community based ecotourism and natural resource management, data collection, project management and NGO management.
Experience with project and programme planning, review and appraisal from assignments to the World Bank, FAO, NORAD, Nordic Development Fund, DANIDA, DANCEE, DANCED, and CARE.
Working experience in the following countries: Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Thailand, West Samoa, Norway, Russia, and Denmark.
